Farewell Spit to Foxton Beach, New Zealand

Back at Motueka we did the housekeeping (filled with water, dumped) then stopped at Maccas for a coffee, muffins and some free internet. The snow on the mountains was fresh from last night! With the high sunshine hours Motueka was one of the best areas in the South Island for the original Maori settlers to grow the prized kumara (sweet potato). Now we see more apple, pears, nashi, cherries and kiwifruit orchards and with the success of Marlborough wines, more vineyards. There were also Feijoas for sale everywhere. Select the photo below to see some of the mushrooms Motueka is NOT renowned for but I found interesting.
