Alaska and Canada Holiday

The toilets (sorry, should say bathrooms) had plants growing all over the roof. Not sure what the purpose was but it was quite a common sight we were to discover over the next couple of weeks. The rubbish bins (sorry, should say trash cans) all have 'bear-proof' handles and are angled (so the snow falls off them???). Notice the rocky outcrop that seems to have burst out of the ground on the other side of the river (closer shot in next photo). Next to the walking track there were quite a few small holes about 10cm across and popping in and out of them were arctic squirrels.
