Valdez to Anchorage - Alaska

Valdez is at the southernmost end of the Trans-Alaskan oil pipeline. It was settled due to its fur trading, salmon canning, and gold and copper mining. The town is only small but there are plenty of RV parks and they are pretty full in the summertime. We didn't book anything (as usual) and got into one on a Friday just before the 4th July weekend but as you can see there aren't a lot of free sites. This is your typical RV park in Alaska very unlike what we are used to in Australia - just a piece of dirt to park your vehicle on. RVs all have their own facilities so the RV parks don't need to provide much. The surrounding views are very nice though.
