Valdez to Anchorage - Alaska

There were signs near the hatchery warning of bears as I guess it is also an easy spot for them to pick up some salmon too. You could walk around to a viewing platform but there didn't seem to be any tours on offer at the hatchery. The salmon didn't seem to be running up the concrete fish ladder yet but they were certainly all gathering outside in the river - mayber we were a week too early. A sign across the road warned you about what to do if the dam bursts which added a touch of excitement to the visit!
