Valdez to Anchorage - Alaska

Next morning we walked from town to the Dock Point Trail Loop and ran across this nice spot near the harbour where a camper was parked. Free camps don't come much better than this. Mind you, we had seen fresh bear skat (complete with digested berries) on the path we had just walked so hope they didn't venture out of the camper at night. Fishing and walks are the thing to do in summer but in winter we are told there is helicopter skiing and heli snowboarding in the Chugach Range surrounding Valdez.
