Valdez to Anchorage - Alaska

Valdez is only a small town so the parade wasn't much more than some motorcycles, kids on decorated bicycles, local fire trucks and some other bits and pieces. We don't have 4th July celebrations in Australia so didn't know what to expect. We had 'funnel cake' at one of the stalls which is dough poured through a funnel into hot oil. The resulting fried ribbons of light donut type batter are then liberally sprinkled with icing sugar. Quite tasty but I am sure not good for the waistline!
