Valdez to Anchorage - Alaska

We stopped at Mendeltra Creek Rest Area on the Glenn Highway for the night. We cooked on a fire overlooking the creek drinking Yellowtail Chardonnay and Wolf Blass Shiraz. We have to encourage Aussie Exports! We have tried a few Californian Wines, both quaffers and better quality, and our Australian wines certainly compare well with other countries' wines. We are still trying to get used to enjoying a fire at 8:30pm in full light. People living nearby are still letting off fireworks - do they know how good they are if let off in darkness??
