Anchorage to Kenai Peninsula - Alaska

It was interesting to read the following alert in Homer: "Driving & Falling Ash - It is highly recommended that when ash is falling, you should not drive. Stop at a convenient location and wait until the ash fall has stopped." As locals advise, Mt. Redoubt Volcano began erupting late on March 22, 2009 and continues to erupt sporadically so this warning is very relevant. We headed back up the Kenai stopping first at Deep Creek State Recreation area. You couldn't park your RV much closer to the water than this!
