Anchorage to Kenai Peninsula - Alaska

This was the face of the Portage Glacier up close with the blue of the ice contrasting with the dirt on the surface. You can see where a section to the right of the top photo looks like it is about to calve off. This is as close as you can get as the chunks of glacier can cause quite a splash and waves. They can also calve off from down under water and spring up to the surface without warning. Two of the icebergs floating around the lake from previous calvings are in bottom two photos.
