Boyd River Region, Old Glen Innes Grafton Highway, NSWThe walls of the tunnel have engravings and graffiti that date back to 1988 when the tunnel was built. Judging by the style of the writing most of it is authentic for that period. The scenic drive along this old highway is well worth it and you can spot many areas for picnics and camping. It follows the Boyd River for about 35 kilometres along a dirt road. The dirt surface can be badly corrugated at times but usually OK. There are no service stations for food, fuel or repairs though so be self sufficient. Previous | Album | Next |
