Bundaberg - Mon Repos Turtle Rookery - Queensland

You can see the tracks made by the turtle as it pulls itself up the beach from the ocean the night before to the spot where it lays its eggs. It takes considerable effort for the turtle to do this so it is important that they are not scared away by loud noises, torch lights or camera flashes during this part of the nesting cycle. If they are disturbed and return to the sea to come in another time it weakens them making them more susceptible to shark attack.
