South Island New Zealand

We drove through Christchurch again and passed the turnoff to Lyttleton Harbour where the recent devastating earthquake epicentre was located. We arrived at the start of Banks Peninsula and drove along the edge of Lake Forsyth just before the sun started to set. That was our signal to stop for the night and luckily there was a nice rest area, called Catons Bay, where you could park your van right next to the water . Beautiful!!! We just had time to get the chairs, wine and nibblies assembled so that we could relax and enjoy our 2nd night's sunset, along with swans, herons and ducks. This is the actual colours - no enhancement to the photo! [Campsite day 2 - a freebie again]
