Hutt Lagoon - Pink Lake

Beta-carotene is harvested from the 'Pink Lakes' at Hutt Lagoon. It is used as a food additive and in medications. It is produced by an algae that grows in pools with very high salt concentrations. Have a look at the lake water up close.
