Tasmania Roadtrip - Week 2 - Stanley to Lake Gairdner |
Album 2 - In Week 2, we concentrated on the north west corner of Tasmania. Starting with food and whiskey tasting in the historic town of Stanley, a chairlift up to The Nut (Circular Head) and a walk offering 360 degree views. Basing ourselves at Greens Point Beach, we did the Tarkine Drive that loops around Arthur-Pieman Conservation Reserve, exploring the contrasting wild western coastline and the beautiful forests and rivers. Back-tracking east past Wynyard to Burnie we restocked and then headed south through to the middle of Tasmania. We set up for a couple of days at Lake Gairdner, giving us easy access to the walks at Cradle Mountain. See our Tasmania Route Map but don't forget to come back and see these photos.
