England - Lake District to North York Moors |
Album 87 - Travelling through the Lake District we stopped to walk down to Derwent Water (lake) then followed the spectacular Honister Pass. The scenic route took us alongside the Haystacks Mountains and Buttermere Lake before we stopped again to do the Long How walk to Crummock Lake. Whinlatter Pass took us to the impressive walk to Aira Force Cascades and Waterfall. As we entered the North York Moors we explored Penrith Castle, Mount Grace Priory, Gisborough Priory and climbed up Roseberry Topping at Great Ayton. Of course we had to visit Captain Cook's birthplace! Missed the last Album? See Album 86 which covers Yorkshire Dales to the Lake District.
