Fairbanks to Valdez, Alaska Canada Holiday
Alyeska (oil pipeline company) had a training exercise up and down the river in their airboats. We had a chat with one of the guys in the airboat about jetboats V airboats. Apparently airboats are the better option but much more expensive. The airboats can slide through the shallows better than a jetboat as well as handle deep and fast water, rocks, gravel, mud bars, log jams and rapids. They glide over anything floating in the water whereas a jet boat can get clogged.
